Yes every innocent protester is just as important and perhaps their stories will be told soon. We will make every effort to do so. These are not soldiers, these are voters killed by their own leaders & their security arm.
Doctor who was by her side tells the whole story..
As Miss Soltan was being taken to hospital another commotion erupted about 20 metres away. A crowd of demonstrators had caught the basij — an Islamic volunteer militaman — who shot her from his motorbike. He was a big, strong man in his forties, clean-shaven except for a moustache.
“I heard him shouting, ‘I didn’t want to kill her. I didn’t want to kill her. I meant to shoot her in the leg’.” The crowd were furious. Some were trying to lynch him. Others were saying: “We’re not killers. Don’t harm him.”
All agreed that there was no point in handing the man to the police so they simply took his identify card and let him go.
Dr Hejazi’s clothes were soaked in Miss Soltan’s blood. He returned to his office to wash. His friends joined him there and they sat for two hours, waiting for the streets to clear, discussing the horror of what they had seen. “I was pale and furious and afraid and sad,” he said. “As a doctor I’d seen death before, but I never thought I’d have such a feeling. It was not just her death, but the injustice of the thing and the gaze in her eyes as life was leaving her.” He did not weep then, but he did later that night in bed.

TY 4 this, Laura is a friend @SusanneUre: Nicholas Kristof: Laura Ling, Euna Lee North Korea. http://kristof.blogs.nytimes.com/2009/06/22/laura-ling-euna-lee-and-north-korea/
Laura Ling is a current.com online friend, no different to me than any other friend or family member.
http://current.com/items/90198109_we-have-a-friend-in-trouble-please-take-action.htm
We can ask, We can beg others to spread the word to sign the ACTION.
This we can do. If that doesn’t work, we will need to find plan, B,C,D,E, F.
Current.com has the page under review for whatever reason. This has made me very upset to say the least. I have posted 6 times now and those comments will be going here very soon if they don’t put the page back up. To put it nicely. My guess is they have a concern people might view their comments as somehow using the reporters to build ratings for the network, or some Lawyer B.S. like that. You can imagine what my response has been to that.
1st 0f 7 posts now hid on current.com. I will post them all if they can’t grow a pair in the next few hours and my server doesn’t go down again…
The link is to long to post here. It is with…
I have not been here much since the election. I did hear about two reporters but had no idea it was Laura until this morning. I attempted to find out what was going on here with no luck, so I thought I would just try this.
If anyone has a better idea, I am open to whatever might help. I have seen amnestyusa.org do some wonderful things before so maybe that is the way to go.
I didn’t work with her or get to meet her just like I never get to meet any of my other friends online but this person is truly special as are all of my online friends.
She MATTERS TO ME and I will not stop until this HUMAN RIGHTS ISSUE IS ADDRESSED.
I know Laura would never do anything ever to harm anyone.
I also know from her many reports that she is someone to be admired not JAILED.
I feel like a FOOL for not knowing about this but I have lost track of all my old friends here as have many.
EVERYONE NEEDS TO GET ON BOARD HERE if current.com will let us.
Please sign the ACTION.
If you have any better ideas and you don’t feel you should post them here, please post them on our site.
If one of my friends or family finds themselves in some trouble I want to know about it I am guessing everyone else here would feel the same.
Maybe current can’t comment but her friends should be able to do so. IF not here, you can sure do it on our site.
2nd 0f 7 posts on the current.com page, taken down.
I sent this link to the most important people I know and now it doesn’t work. That doesn’t make me very happy with current at this point.
This is not the TV NETWORK, this is the online site and this is simply her friends attempting to network what is going on.
How could that be a problem?
Come on current.com, let’s go here.
